The General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is a regulation in EU law on data protection and privacy for all individuals within the European Union.  It addresses the export of personal data outside the EU.

Records are now being uploaded for the Summary Care Record unless you have choosen to opt out basic medical information from your records may now be available to some staff in emergency care settings.

GDPR – Data Sharing Opt Out Form

Your Summary Care Records contains 3 important pieces of information about you:

• Medicines you take
• Allergies you have
• Any medicinces that make you ill

You can choose not to have a summary care record if you want to.

The Health & Social Care Information Centre (hscic) plans to upload information on every patient in the county over the next few months.  Information about this transfer is available at http://www.nhs.uk/caredata.
